Taking over furniture from a previous tenant without loose ends

Taking over furniture can save both parties time. Disputes usually arise from unclear details: Was a scratch visible? Was a shelf included? Did the price of an appliance change later?

Inspect each item before agreeing

Inspect every item to be taken over. Open cabinets, test moving parts and check electrical appliances where it is safe to do so. Photos should show the actual condition, not only an attractive overview.

  • Name the item unambiguously
  • Record room and quantity
  • Photograph visible wear
  • List accessories and included parts
  • Agree item prices instead of only a total

Handle price changes transparently

A counterproposal is normal. It becomes a problem only when different lists circulate afterwards. Ordivant keeps the current shared version clear and resets approvals after a relevant change.

Both parties see the same total. The completion document is generated only after both approve the current version.

Keep payment and documentation separate

Ordivant does not hold the payment between the parties. It documents the inventory agreement; the actual payment takes place outside the service.

Frequently asked questions

Must all furniture be taken over?

No. The parties jointly decide which individual items are included.

How many photos can be added?

Ordivant supports up to four photos per item and up to 30 items per case.

Can the other party suggest a different price?

Yes. Relevant changes are assigned to a new version and must be approved again.
